In The Beginning Jesus created the Heavens and the Earth!
In whom shall you trust, God or man?
So Whom will you trust? Do you believe the word of God. What does the Bible say about Jesus’s identity relating the creation of the world. Who is Jesus? Was He God? We all appear to be taught differently on the subject of who God is. The foundation of what we believe is important, because of where we will spend our eternity. Consider trusting the Word of God. I have known people who walked away from the Faith because they blame God for the loss of a family member. It’s tough losing someone you love, but to give up ones faith, calls to question whether you had a genuine relationship with God in the first place. Look at Job for instance. If anyone had a right to be angry at the Lord it would probably be him. He lost his family, his servants, his live stock, home and became deathly ill. His response was not to pull away from God. but rather to draw closer. He worshiped God all the more. God later rewarded Job by multiplying all he had lost because Job did not lose faith through suffering.
The Identity of Jesus Christ
Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” So we know God is the creator, but how does Jesus fit into the creation and who was He? The Prophet Isaiah had something to say about Jesus several hundred years before he was born. In Isaiah 9:6 it reads, “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Is the passage suggesting Jesus is God when it says “Mighty God”? I think so. Am I reaching? Lets look at another book in the bible. Jesus is also referred to as “the Word” The term “Word” is capitalized and the verses describe the “Word” John 1:1-5 says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life and the life was the light of men.” In verse 14 it says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” The passage is clear that Jesus is the Word and that He is God. But lets look at one more chapter, Colossians 1:15-17. In verse 15 it says He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God (The Father). Verse 16 says “He created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All thing were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things consist.”
Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting
Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting. Jesus has been around from before time was created. Many people think He only came into existence when he was born in a manger. The truth is Jesus left heaven and came to earth on a mission to save mankind.
Thousands of years before Jesus came as a baby, He appeared in another Biblical passage in Daniel 3, Three Hebrew boys were sentenced to die in a fiery furnace, because they refused to bow down to a false god, King Nebuchadnezzar watched as the boys were bound and thrown into the furnace. The story says the King was astonished and asked “did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? Why do I see four men loose in the midst of the fire and one looking like the Son of the living God.” All throughout Bible history, Jesus has been revealed to us. It’s just a mater of us reviewing the word of God.
Jesus in the book of Genesis
Another example of Jesus in the old testament is Genesis chapter 18. Where Abraham bows down to the Lord who appears with two angels. The Lord reveals to Abraham he would have a son born to him and he tells Abraham about His plans to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. This was also a few thousand years before the Birth of Jesus Christ. All this points to the identity of Christ.
Jesus is the door of the sheep
There is no other way to get to heaven but by Jesus. Let’s Look at a statement Jesus made in John 10: 9-10 so we can better understand him! “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Bless the name of Jesus. He came to save mankind from their sins. If you believe Jesus and repent of your sins you too shall be saved.
